Dr. E. López Alcina has been invited to participate in the User Meeting on Robotic Surgery in Urology, held on May 26 and 27, 2022, in Seville.
This experienced surgeon recently reached the milestone of performing 200 robotic urological surgeries, mainly radical prostatectomies and partial nephrectomies.
His experience began in 2017, when he became the first urologist to perform a robotic procedure in Valencia. He was among the first surgeons to recognize the benefits that this technology could bring to prostate surgery. Outstanding 3D vision, precision, and maneuverability are its main advantages. This allows for millimetric dissection — not only enabling the removal of the tumor lesion but also preserving adjacent tissues — thereby minimizing long-term side effects such as urinary incontinence or erectile dysfunction, as evidenced by his excellent results.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of those first surgeries, and he proudly observes how robotic surgery continues to grow across the country — especially in the field of urology — and that he was a pioneer in this area in his hometown.
Currently, Dr. López Alcina serves as Director of the Chair of Robotic and Advanced Surgery in Urology at the University of Valencia and actively participates as a researcher, in collaboration with the Valencian Innovation Agency, in technological developments within the field of robotic surgery.
From Clínica Inuva, we would like to congratulate Dr. López Alcina on this milestone and encourage him to continue his outstanding work in the service of our patients.
